Women Like Us Centre is a well-known , women-led grassroot organization that promotes gender equality as well as the rights, health, and education of girls and women in all of their overlapping identities. Our advocacy drives socioeconomic investment in the lives of girls and women in Kenya.

FULFILLED DREAMS!
Ever year, the Women Like Us Center in Nakuru, Kenya, experiences excitement as the women and teen girls _ the Majority of whom are survivors of gender-based violence _ graduate with agricultural, sewing and computer skills. Numerous businesses and government officials frequently attend our spectacular graduations.
In addition to receiving certification, successful graduates are connected to the job market, others assist in the launch of small businesses and others are hired as professionals at the Women Like Us Center where they can work on projects like creating uniforms for kids, producing reusable sanitary products for the neighborhood and starting a poultry business.

We use data and bring together various voices to inspire dedication to gender equality. With an emphasis on social economic skills and education, we fight for girls and women’s rights in all facets of their life. Our 2022-2027 Strategic Framework focuses on five thematic pillars:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Women Like Us Center is dedicated to improving the lives of women whose lives have included abuse, violence, physical hardship, and personal loss. Her trauma is intense and deep-seated, leaving no hope for the future. This center offers them a place of healing and real rest, helping them find themselves. Our commitment is focused on building a path to self-reliance through education and training. Our center offers a variety of services to meet the needs of our participants.

- Sewing for self-reliance and economic empowerment

ADVOCACY AND POLICY CHANGE
Women Like Us Center engages stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers to advocate for improved policies and programs, and increased financial and socioeconomic efforts to advance gender equality and women’s rights. , continuing to engage with individuals outside the community of pioneers we have already served. We use meeting, communication, and advocacy platforms as spaces that enable more inclusive decision-making. We put evidence, communication, and advocacy in the hands of decision-makers. In addition, we advise and influence decision-makers at local, national, and private sector levels on women’s issues.
COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIP
Respectful, inclusive, and impactful partnerships are a core part of our organizational values. We connect people, ideas, and resources to advance solutions for girls and women. We identify opportunities to strengthen advocacy through effective collaboration. We focus on what works, whether by bringing together unexpected partnerships or connecting interdependent problems to provide girls and women with the most impactful solutions. We enable everyone, including marginalized people, to participate in efforts to build a gender-just world. We know that girls and women are agents of change everywhere, so we place great importance on raising the voices of young advocates and other like minded organizations around us.
CAPACITY BUILDING
To more effectively advocate for gender equality and socioeconomic empowerment, we develop and promote user-centered methods of capacity building, knowledge and skills training, and collaboration. We create spaces for outreach and peer-to-peer learning, reach out to advocates with diverse experiences and identities, and support their ability to influence decision-making at different levels.
